2013

I am so stoked for 2013. It's going to be a great year with a lot of new adventures awaiting us!

I found out just before Thanksgiving that we were going to have a baby and almost immediately pregnancy knocked me out. I couldn't believe how exhausted I was! And then of course, nausea reared it's ugly head. This was why I was having such a difficult time adjusting to my new job. So when I would get home at the end of the day I would literally crash. I didn't even feel the energy to turn on the TV.

A few days before Christmas we had our first doctor's appointment. We were anxious and worried that the ultrasound would have bad news for us again. I didn't want either of us to feel that disappointment again- especially just before Christmas and I certainly didn't want to have to have another D&C. It startled me when the Dr. declared excitedly that, "Things look a little different this time! This is good! See the little heartbeat there? Merry Christmas!"

I think we were in shock. We just kind of smiled a little and didn't say much. It wasn't until a day later when I woke up sick again that it really hit me. We were having a baby!! Finally! We decided to tell our family the news on Christmas even though it was still a little early.

Now we get to go in to 2013 with this amazing new chapter of our lives to look forward to. And thankfully, my energy has returned and I haven't been very sick at all this week.
