In light of a sad couple of weeks around here, I decided to whip up something fun and festive for Valentine's Day. I needed a crafty outlet and this was just the trick.
I made my own little heart template from a piece of cardstock. Grabbed the modge podge and glitter and went to work. I started by painting the canvas a soft pink.

Then I kind of measured and marked where I wanted the hearts to go, but mostly I just eyeballed it. It's not perfect, but what is, right?

I went with mostly gold hearts and then added one pink heart for a fun little surprise to the eye. After standing back and looking at it, I felt like the pink heart kind of disappeared into the background. So I picked up a pinch of gold glitter and sprinkled it over the pink heart. It was the perfect thing to give it a little dimension.

A little trick when doing this- I wrapped a piece of tape around my finger to pick up any stray glitter pieces on the canvas. Worked like a charm.

After finishing the hearts, I took it outside and sprayed the whole thing with a glitter adhesive that I hope will hold it all together nice and snug.
I love the way it looks in the living room! A little pop of glitter to make me smile when I walk in the room.
So adorable!! I Love it.
