Thoughts for the Weekend + Links

choosing weekend books
Trying to decide which book to start this weekend. Want to weigh in?

Hi friends. I have a lot on my mind this weekend. I had a job interview yesterday, so I've been thinking a lot about jobs and careers and school and all that jazz. I'm constantly looking- trying to find out what else is out there, you know? Always wondering if I could do better. But I had a realization about where I belong and where I want to be this week. So anyway, it's been heavy in my thoughts. I'm trying to sort it out because I'd like to write about it and see what you guys think.

This weekend, signs of Spring are popping up. There's a very subtle change in the air. I always find that the change of seasons is a big motivator for me. I suddenly have the urge to start new projects. Do you still have snow in your area?

Just a few links for this weekend. Nothing particularly thought provoking, but some things I've been recently excited about. I kind of feel a 'zing' today- a drive- something I'm not sure how to explain, but I love it.

Have you guys seen Pitch Perfect? Totally inappropriate in several scenes, hilarious, and now I'm addicted to the soundtrack. Once in awhile this kind of humor can reel me in.

Game of Thrones Season 3! Chills people. Chills. Love this series and currently participating in a Read Along of the books.

Love at first Read- This girl is awesome. I seriously just had an En Vogue jam out session in my kitchen. Love when I find a 'kindred spirit' in the blog world. Book Nerd? Check. Self Proclaimed Geek? Check. Lover of Nature? Check. Muggle who channels Luna Lovegood? Check.

Have a great weekend!

  1. No snow here but I'm also in Texas. It's been in the 60s and 70s and beautiful out. I know, rub it in why don't ya?! ;)But hey, I remember what it's like because I was raised in NY and then lived in MA. Hello snow!

My husband and I just watched the Game of Thrones trailer the other day. I too got chills and I can't wait! I'm working on an Etsy shop now that's all geek all the time and two of my items are Game of Thrones items. Squeeee!

Oh and thank you so much for that shout out. When I was reading all of your posts and commenting away I felt the same, like a "kindred spirit," and I was hoping that you were a blogger that reads comments and is interested in connecting. So I am so happy that we connected. I also love your phrasing, "Muggle who channels Luna Lovegood." You phrased it better than me! I look forward to getting to know you more Kimberly. :)

    1. Sweet! I got an Etsy account a couple of years ago but then never did anything with it. Have you launched yours yet? I'll have to check it out! Enjoy your sunshine :p

  2. I'm just waiting on one more supply and deciding on branding but I plan to have it up this coming week. I have about 30 items done but will be adding more daily. I'm starting with my love for pyrography (aka fire writing, aka wood burning) and all things geek. I want to use it as a gateway but I eventually plan on adding my own screenprinted designs on clothing, designing mugs, making candles (because I love candle making), handmade journals- specifically moleskin sized (because I love bookbinding) and jewelry.

Also, I just wanted to mention that I don't get emails when you reply to me (sad face). I came back to check to see if you replied. A blogger friend of mine just posted a bit on what Blogger blog holders can do to allow readers who comment to get emails when they reply. Here it is if you are interested: http://www.mymodstyle.blogspot.com/2013/03/more-information-about-no-reply-bloggers.html I would love to get emails because I have a strong feeling I'm sticking around for a while as a reader of yours and would love to reply, reply, reply without having to check back to see if there was a reply to reply to. Did that just make sense or am I sounding loony?
